Vampire Weekend 2012

The past few years, our friends here in Colorado rent a house somewhere in Colorado to spend the weekend before Halloween. This year we went to Breckenridge!
Things are always more difficult with a baby, but Ty is a sport.
I loved this view on our (short) hike:
He loves being outdoors and enjoyed the hike even though it was in the 30's. I was nervous he was getting too cold and ended up walking down with him zipped in my coat, but he didn't mind at all.
Such a beautiful town-even before ski season.
Vampire weekend always includes an awesome party. I love the bacon and egg! (PS Tim was a lumberjack with a nice mustache)
Pirate pals!
Ty liked his costume. I made his vest out of 2 sheets of felt and hand stitched them together.
 HAPPY HALLOWEEN MATEY!

Pumpkin Patch!

We had fun last Saturday at a local pumpkin patch and Ty finally smiled for some pictures (he doesn't like the camera. I usually have to hide it from him.)
This one below is my favorite!
Ty is pretty excited about the pumpkin he picked:
Ty loves doing high-five!

Sanity Time

I've noticed that for the past 6 months, pretty much every post has been about Ty. What the heck did I blog about before he was born??? You mean I used to have time to do things for myself? Though I realize life will only get more crazy in the future, I am work 20 hours a week and serve with the Young Women at church. Tim watches Ty while I work, but he has his own classes to take, teach, and do homework for, not to mention the fact that he is also the Deacon Adviser/YM 2nd counselor/Scoutmaster at Church. This means I don't get a lot of time away from Ty when I am not working, and demands at work are always increasing, so my time there is busy and stressful.
Even so, here are some things I do on my own:

I am happy to say that for the first time in almost six years, I got Grandma Rich's sewing machine out and used it!!! Ty's room is so bright that I don't put him down for naps there, so I decided to make curtains for his two large windows. I used the darkest color I could find (brown with white polka-dots), but it matches his cute bear theme. I have to admit, I was intimidated even to thread the machine, but now that I've brushed up, I am inspired to sew my own clothes...or maybe a pillow case or two :)

Occasionally if it works for our schedules, I get to sub my old yoga class from the Rec/Senior Center. I hope to get back to teaching someday. (For now, it's a struggle to even do it for myself)

A local yoga studio I go to sometimes hosted a master class with Bryan Kest. This just means he came from out of town and spends an hour talking and 2 hours teaching a yoga class. I was extremely excited about this opportunity because I have been doing his Power Yoga DVD for 5 years! I base my teaching on his yoga philosophy and still use his DVD when I do yoga at home. I guess you could say he is the reason I got into yoga.
Tim's cousin Sarah had an online party for these Jamberry Nails, which are sticker-like things you put on your nails. I took some time to pamper myself and apply them, and now I get happy every time I see my "fishy" toenails. I've had them almost a month, so I'm ready for some new ones.  FYI, I will be hosting a party on facebook soon, so let me know if you're interested!
And last but not least, I got to do another mom fashion show for Downeast Basics, because my friend Natalie runs their blog. I am always happy to do it, especially because I get to keep the clothes! Click HERE for the video and fast forward to 1:30 if you want to skip the weird talk show part.
And so you can see, I am still here.

*Loves to give high five's*
*Loves singing and going for walks in the stroller*
*Takes 3 naps a day and sleeps 9-10 hours at night (thank heaven)*
*Goes to Mother Goose Story Time, if he's not napping*
*Has a habit of scratching the sheet as he goes to sleep-it's funny*
*His smiling cheeks...and eyes...and chin are the cutest ever*
*Is not photogenic. His pictures don't do him justice*

His smile lights up my life.

Ty and Ted

Last week, some friends from Denver came over and brought their nice dog, Ted. Ty wasn't so sure at first...
...But once Ted gave him kisses...
...and a ride...
Ty was okay with him.
The end.

Chompers Eats Cereal

I tried to wait for the signs the doctor had mentioned before starting this cute little Chompers on solid foods such as good head control (check),
and him acting interested in food when we eat it (double check).
...So we got the rice cereal out on Sunday.

My boy is growing up so fast
