Louisville Sluggers

We took our first day trip from Nashville to Louisville, Kentucky where we met Tim's friend Ed from CU (who is currently teaching in Ohio). Naturally, we toured the Louisville Slugger Factory. Ty was super excited about the ginormous bat out front (rightly so)! After the factory, we walked around some pretty streets, ate burgers, and headed home. It was the peak of Fall, and a beautiful drive!

Zoo Trip

We took advantage of Daddy's Fall Break and enjoyed a beautiful day at the Nashville Zoo. My favorite part was petting the Kangaroos!

Cider Press Rules

We made another trip to the cabin this Fall. This time to use the (many) apples we picked to make some fresh apple cider with Grandpa Rod's cider press! As you can see, Ty was a big help.
He is official with the hat and everything.
 Here it comes!
 One happy helper.
Lucy wanted in on the action too.
I just love this picture below because it portrays Lucy perfectly. She is always grabbing your face and trying to take a bite of your nose. I see this picture often. It reminds me of baby godzilla.
She was also a big help.
 Two cute girls:
I should have taken a picture once all of the bottles were filled. We probably ended up with the equivalent of 9 or ten of these orange juice containers. Mmmm!
BBQ and Grandpa for dinner. It was a good night.

...made even better with stories from Aunt Aubrey!

 A happy grandpa!
Just before we left on Sunday, we went on a beautiful leaf drive on the golf cart. It wasn't quite the peak of the season, but it was sure pretty!

September Adventures

Phone finally plugged into the computer=picture purge.
We love the Warner Park Nature Center. This month, they did a "Story Walk" where you walk around a short trail to read the story and see the pictures. It was a cute idea.

We caught the Tennessee State Fair. Though it wasn't as exciting as I had hoped, Ty managed to have a blast.
In a Family History class at BYU, I discovered there was a "famous" Lotz House in the little town of Franklin Tennessee. I wasn't related to these Lotz's (at least not closely), but I thought it was a neat connection, as Lotz isn't a common name in Utah. Eighteen months later while travelling to Atlanta for my internship, we took a quick stop to see it. There was a sign, but the house was a law office. A year after that, also while travelling cross country (this time from Salt Lake to Washington DC), our car broke down in Franklin. Fast forward seven years and here we are again, this time as locals. The house is now a Civil War Museum, because the house was used as a hospital after the bloody battle of Franklin. The tour was pretty interesting. Mr. Lotz was a wood carver who immigrated from Germany. The battle caused a lot of damage to the house, and after the war, he received threats, so he migrated to California. His daughter Matilda, who was only six during the battle, became a quite famous painter!

More Lucy pictures...
Lucy's first time sitting up in a shopping cart!
On pretty much the last day the pools were open, I found out she does like to swim...
She is just too cute in this swimsuit from Grandma Diney.

Two teeth!
A less than exciting Sunday School...
 Sporting a new do...

The Princess

My sister Mindy couldn't pass up a good deal for a Belle dress for Lucy, so I got a little creative one morning. This is what I ended up with...
(I like most of these, but the top six are my favorite!)

Thanks Mindy!
