V-Day 2017

Valentine's Day was great. We spent it together as a family, and Tim and I went out together a different night. The best part was that Ty was so excited to buy flowers for both me and Lucy.
I experience a grown-up parent moment this month when I got to "help" Ty make a Valentine's Day box. It wasn't too bad and ended up pretty cute, but to be honest, I'm a little worried about doing this for the next 10+ years!
 Lucy found her own Valentine...

Retreat to Phoenix

Most Winters since moving away from Utah, I try to get to Phoenix to visit Mindy and her family. This year, Lucy got to come too! She had a total blast with her cousins. We hung out, decorated cookies, enjoyed the weather, and visited a few museums.
Lucy liked petting the guinea pig.

I was excited to try some hand-grown grapefruits from Mindy's tree!
We visited the musical instrument museum. It was really interesting and had a history of music and instruments for every country, but Lucy was mostly interested in the hands-on kids section (me too!).
Before heading to the airport to go home, we also hit up the Children's museum, where Lucy made herself right at home with every toy. It was a great trip!

January 2017

I love the journaling and organization of my blog, so I'm trying to keep it up.  January was busy for me starting four new yoga classes and getting into the new year, so here are a few pictures from our life as we began 2017...
 We had snow!!!
Sometimes these kids get along.
My running friend Jennifer's husband (and Lucy's buddy Ella's Dad) is a Firefighter. He invited us to the station for a tour and some pizza. Ty was too starstruck to even get in the truck.
Our friends Amelia, Jon, and Claire came for a visit from Mississippi. We did all you can do in Rome...in one day, then ventured up to Chattanooga, Tennessee for the Children's Discovery Museum and Clumpy's Ice Cream!
Lucy was growing so much hair, and she never wanted to wear it up, so I decided at the spur of the moment that I would straighten it out. It turned out pretty cute!
Some random Lucy pics.
...And one of the best pictures of all time:
