Happy Birthday Ty!

I can't believe I have a big 5 year old!  Ty wanted a Transformers party, but I hadn't been feeling well (pregnancy), so I managed to talk him into a low key party. It just so happened that April 15th was the Rome Braves' opening day and they even had fireworks after the game! We ate cake and ice cream with Ty's friend Emmanuel from church, then headed to the stadium.

Lucy and I took little ice cream cups to Ty's preschool class.

More Visitors

We love having visitors, and it was so fun that Grandpa Tom and Grandma Sheila were able to come out from Utah! Their trip involved lots of hikes, walks, and FOOD! Starting with the Honeymoon Bakery.
Next up was a visit to Berry Campus, a hike up to the lake from the Old Mill, and a tour of Oak Hill, Martha Berry's home. It was my first time there, too, and the tour was LONG, but the grounds were very nice. It is also the home in Sweet Home Alabama, one of my favorite movies!
Grandma and Grandpa came during Conference Weekend, so we headed up to the cabin to relax, hike, and listen.
Hiking at Cloudland Canyon State Park

We also headed to Chattanooga for the Children's Discovery Museum, where the kids had a blast!

March 2017

I just love my two kids.
Lucy in all of her silly personality.

 1. Loving Ramen Noodles (about all I could stomach at this stage of pregnancy) 2. Comforting a sick/pregnant mommy 3. Pink rainboots, undies, and shirt 4. St Patricks Day 5. More undies?? 6. Wearing her "Roscoe and Rosie" shirt with the real Roscoe and Rosie (turtles) at the YMCA!

Visits

We loved having family visit for Lucy's birthday. Here are some of our adventures, starting with Aunt Aubrey at Honeymoon Bakery.
Next, we took her to the Old Mill at Berry College. Where there's water, Tim and Ty are always happy to play.
Grandma Diney and Grandpa Rod took the kids up to the cabin...their favorite thing. Ever.

Shenanigans.

Lucy is Two!

Happy second to my sweet little Lucy Belle! We went to Panera on her actual birthday (above), and threw a wonderful Minnie Mouse Party a few days later with Grandma and Grandpa Larsen, Great Grandma Larsen, Aubrey, and Lucy's friend Ella.
We had some fun food including "Hot Diggety Dogs" and "Chip 'n Dale Chips!"

 Pin the bow on Minnie
The mouse ears from Disney World came in quite handy once again.
 Presents and toys
We were so happy Grandma Larsen could join us! Lucy did a thorough check up with her doctor kit, and shared some other presents as well.
 Don't forget the cake!
And cookies!
It's always a good day when Aunt Aubrey is here.
Apparently, Lucy also held a private party in her bed that night...
Playing with presents the next day.

V-Day 2017

Valentine's Day was great. We spent it together as a family, and Tim and I went out together a different night. The best part was that Ty was so excited to buy flowers for both me and Lucy.
I experience a grown-up parent moment this month when I got to "help" Ty make a Valentine's Day box. It wasn't too bad and ended up pretty cute, but to be honest, I'm a little worried about doing this for the next 10+ years!
 Lucy found her own Valentine...

Retreat to Phoenix

Most Winters since moving away from Utah, I try to get to Phoenix to visit Mindy and her family. This year, Lucy got to come too! She had a total blast with her cousins. We hung out, decorated cookies, enjoyed the weather, and visited a few museums.
Lucy liked petting the guinea pig.

I was excited to try some hand-grown grapefruits from Mindy's tree!
We visited the musical instrument museum. It was really interesting and had a history of music and instruments for every country, but Lucy was mostly interested in the hands-on kids section (me too!).
Before heading to the airport to go home, we also hit up the Children's museum, where Lucy made herself right at home with every toy. It was a great trip!
