Sunday Fun-day

We walked the half mile to church in this blizzard because it was stake conference (we kept waiting to see if they would cancel, but it never happened), and we were worried about parking. It wasn't the best idea, but we made it and, more importantly, hitched a ride home.
Ty enjoyed the meeting:
He LOVED his chocolate chip cookie after dinner.
His dinner was so successful, he ended night with a bath to wash the chocolate and orange off of him (though, it is still on his shirt, unfortunately). He enjoys playing in front of the space heater after his baths, a child after my heart!

New Talents

Ty at 10 Months (Modeling Talent)
We got a keyboard for Christmas and sometimes put it on the bed so Ty can practice. I'd say he's getting pretty good. (Musical Talent)
Notice below how his fingers are so busily playing.
Okay, so he's got a ways to go...
He's also getting pretty good at snitching cookies (Hunter/Gatherer talent)
Yeah, we're proud parents!

My Heart

Who would have ever though I'd be so in LOVE with TWO BOYS on Valentine's Day?
"Auntie's Dream Date" Bib from Aubrey
We just discovered that there is a Children's Museum pretty close to us and kids under 15 months are FREE! We've already been twice! Unfortunately, I didn't have my normal camera, so the pictures didn't really turn out.
We loved the "Wind Room" (That ball is floating!)

Dinners are growing more fun by the day...
 Messy Stinker!

Friday Find: Gallagher Girls Series

I found this series of books by Ally Carter when browsing audio books on my library's website. It is about a girl, Cami Morgan, who goes to a secret school that prepares girls to be spies. It is Young Adult Fiction, but I love the writing style and voice, plus, it is just fun to be part of some spy adventures! Definitely my favorite books read in 2012.

Monkey Business

Some random pictures of our fun times:
Thanks for my Valentine's package and outfit Grandma!

Ty has had a lot of dirty diapers this week. I think it was because he prefers to be au natural.

Friday Find: Baby Mum-Mum's

I found these at Target when just looking for a snack for Ty and now I am hooked. They are make from rice husks in China (a traditional baby snack there). I love them because they are easy and safe for Ty to eat and don't make a mess (especially compared to the baby cracker/biscuits; I won't buy those again due to the mess they make on Ty's hands and face). Tim likes them because he says buying them is like buying time. I guess eating them keeps Ty entertained.

New Year's Goal #1-CHECK!

I've decided I am going to start blogging a little more about my thoughts and adventures. Apparently, there is an entire world of "bloggers" out there, often Mormon moms, that I didn't even discover until I was introduced to Pinterest. They follow each other's blogs and go to conventions, and some even get paid. I have no interest in becoming a professional blogger, but I will share when I come across things I like.
Last year, one of my book clubs discussed "The Urban Homestead" which talks about all kinds of things you can do to make your home and style of living more ...farm-like?? Well, that is what I got from it.
The girl who hosted made her own yogurt and served it at book club. (I made my own pickles, which was also pretty easy and fun). It has been my goal to make my own ever since. I kept putting it off, but finally just make up my mind that I would try and it really was easy! I used this recipe which is supposed to make the yogurt thicker. Mine turned out pretty thin, but I also used skim milk. I think I'll try 2% next time.
These pictures are the finished product. The recipe uses 1/2 gallon of milk and makes what you see below (the yogurt container is full). I am not completely sold on it-it is, after all, just plain yogurt, but I'll probably try it again. I have to see if I end up eating it all. The biggest problem is that Tim will have nothing to do with it!
